summer cunningham.

virginia beach. | daughter. sister. student.

Summer is from a small immediate family consisting of her mom, dad, and two older sisters. Summer choose Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA because she wanted to throw herself into a setting and environment that she had not been exposed to before. She wanted to go outside of her comfort zone and has been really enjoying her time at V.C.U.

Impressively enough, Summer has been studying to become fluent in German  since the 7th grade. She aspires to be someone who travels the world while continuing to study different cultures and people. Additionally, she would like to be involved in policy making that allows her to make positive changes for people around the world.

What is the most graceful thing about your mother?

Her manners and politeness. She’s taught me how to be respectful and to carry my manners with me always, even when away from the dinner table. That and her forgiveness. She’s not perfect, and as a woman, so she doesn’t always forget, but she has always tried hard to find forgiveness in her heart when faced with adversity. I find that incredibly graceful.

Is there something that you want to tell your mother that you don’t say enough?

Thank you. I love you, and I’m glad to know that you’ll always here for me when I need you to be.

How does your mother comfort you when you are having a bad day?

Well since I’m away at school I guess it’s a bit different, but back home she’ll do things like trick me into getting into the car with her and drive me somewhere that offers a nice view to sit and relax until I feel better. When I’m away, she is always there with open ears to let me tell her my worries and woes. I appreciate that.
